US sanctions 3 Indian firms for trade and ties with Iran
Washington (US) – The US has sanctioned 3 Indian firms from doing business with Iran over allegations of facilitating illicit trade with the Iranian military and supplying drones to it. Over a dozen companies, individuals and vessels of many countries other than India have also been slapped with sanctions. All of them are alleged to have played a central role in facilitating and financing the clandestine sale of Iranian drones to Russia.

These drones are used in the war against Ukraine. Indian firms that have been sanctioned include Zen Shipping, Port India Private Limited and Sea Art Ship Management.
