US Congress passes resolution condemning attacks on Hindu Temples
Washington, US – Resolution condemning attacks on Hindu temples and acts of Hinduphobia in the US was introduced in US Congress. Senator Thanekar an American of Indian origin introduced this proposal. Earlier Senators of Indian origin Raja Krishnamurthy, Ro Khanna, Emmy Berry, and Pramila Jaipal had written to the legal department asking for investigation into the attacks on Hindu Temples in the US.
The resolution stated,
1. The Hindu American community plays a very important part in USA’s progress, but they have to face Hinduphobia.
2. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) report states that there is an increase in the incidents of Hinduphobic crimes and attacks on Hindu Temples.
3. There are approximately 40 lakh Hindus in the US. They play a very important role in America’s economy, and every wing of Industry.
4. There have been attacks on Hindu Temples from New York to California. This caused a feeling of fear in the Hindu community.
