Maldives thanks India for record export
Largest export in 40 years
Male (Maldives) – Maldives’ Foreign Affairs Minister, Moosa Zameer, has thanked Indian Government and India’s External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar. India has taken decision to lift the ban on exports to Maldives. This would be the largest export since 1981. Rice, wheat flour, sugar, potatoes, onions and pulses are being allowed to be exported to Maldives.
India will now provide 1,24,218 tonnes of rice,1,09,162 tonnes of wheat flour, 64,494 tonnes of sugar, 21,513 tonnes of potato, 35, 749 tonnes of onions and 42.75 crore eggs to Maldives. Moosa Zameer has thanked Indian Government. He posted, ‘this symbolises the long-standing friendship between the two countries, as well as our strong commitment to further enhance bilateral trade and commerce.’
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, India is committed to its Neighbourhood First and Maritime Policies. Security and development for all and Maritime Co-operation in the Ocean Sector, is India’s Policy.
