Completion of the temple renovation work doubtful
Mumbai – In the past two years, the Maharashtra Government has undertaken the renovation and conservation work of 9 ancient temples and the cave carvings. But the Archaeological Department is creating obstacles to the conservation and renovation work that is to be done at the Shri Ekavira Devi Temple in Karla and 5 other temples, delaying the completion of renovation work.

The temples to be renovated were Karla’s Shri Ekavira Devi Temple, Ratnagiri’s Shri Dhootapapeshwar Temple, Shri Kopeshwar Temple at Khidrapur in Kolhapur, Sinnar’s (Nashik) Shri Govindeshwar Temple, Shri Khandoba Temple at Chatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed’s Bhagwan Shri Purushottam Temple at Purushottampuri, Lasur’s (Amaravati) Shri Anandeshwar Temple, Gadchiroli’s Shri Markandeshwar Temple and Satara’s Shri Utteshwar
Temple. But only renovation work at Dhootpapeshwar, Khandoba, Bhagwan Purushottam and Utteshwar Temples has started.
