It is sad that the temples have to go to the Court to get their dues ! – Allahabad High Court

Varanasi – The Allahabad High Court has said it is saddened to hear that temples and trusts in Uttar Pradesh are being forced to go to the Court to get their dues. The High Court expressed this regret while hearing a petition filed on behalf of ‘Thakur Rangji Maharaj Virajman Temple’. Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal has sent the observation in this regard to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for necessary action.

The High Court has summoned the Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Board to explain the annual dues of at least 9 temples in Vrindavan for the last 4 years. The funds of the temples were supposed to be automatically deposited in the temple accounts from the State treasury. The petitioner told the Court that the annual amount of Rs 9,12,507 was not paid to the 9 temples. The bench said that the annual compensation has not been transferred to the temples for the last 4 years. Therefore, the High Court has referred the matter to the Chief Secretary of the State for necessary action.
