Allahabad High Court’s refusal to quash the chargesheet against those who chanted anti-India slogans
Varanasi, UP – The Allahabad High Court refused to quash the chargesheet against the trio for making anti-India slogans during religious discourse in the temple. A Bench headed by Justice Subhash Vidyarthi, while refusing to grant relief to the accused, said it is not proper to praise another country and make slogans against one’s own country, as well as abuse and threaten people attending a religious discourse.
Faizan Ahmed, Idrisi Faizan, Shamshad Ahmed and other accused barged into the temple premises during a religious discourse in July 2017 and raised anti-India slogans hailing Pakistan. He threatened the people present there. A chargesheet was filed against these accused under Sections 153 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. The accused were immediately arrested.
