While giving citizenship to the refugees, it should be verified whether they have been circumcised

The demand of Tathagata Roy, former Governor of Mizoram and Tripura states and BJP leader

Tathagata Roy, former Governor of Mizoram and Tripura, and BJP leader

Kolkata – Former Governor of Mizoram and Tripura states and BJP leader Tathagata Roy has made a statement about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He posted on ‘X’ and said that while granting citizenship to Hindu, Buddhist or Christian refugees, the religion of the male refugee should be verified whether he has been circumcised.

Roy said that the Trinamool Congress is constantly spreading misinformation about the CAA in Bengal. So the possibility of people getting misled is increasing day by day. In such a situation, how will the Hindu refugees who came to India with only dirty clothes get citizenship due to Islamic atrocities in Bangladesh ? And what will be the status of those whose citizenship applications have been rejected, the Union Home Ministry should clarify soon. Also, if the citizenship applications of Hindus, Buddhists and Christians are rejected for some reason, they should be allowed to stay here. It should be clearly stated that they will not be sent to a refugee camp in any way.

Editorial Perspective

There is truth in Tathagata Roy’s statement. Pakistani and Bangladeshi fanatical intruders will try to get Indian citizenship by taking advantage of the CAA. Therefore, it is necessary to implement different measures to be alert.
