Vatican City – Pope Francis, the supreme leader of Christians, in an interview in Switzerland, advised the Ukrainian Government to show the courage to resolve their ongoing conflict with Russia through dialogue. Russia previously stated that no foreign intervention could change the course of the war.

Pope Francis further added :

1. Negotiations aren’t for surrender but for saving the nation

When you see that you are defeated and things aren’t going right, you must have the courage to negotiate. Negotiations are never for surrender, but to save your country.

2. Seek help from other countries for mediation

You might feel ashamed; but how many years have passed since the war started ? Speak at the right time and seek help from other countries for mediation.

3. The strongest negotiates

When asked about the ongoing discussions in Ukraine about surrender and white flags, Pope said, ‘I think the strongest is the one who observes the situation, considers the people, shows the courage of the white flag (peace) and negotiates.’
