16 Muslims arrested in Bengal for last year’s Ramanavami violence
Kolkata (Bengal) – The NIA has arrested 16 Muslims in the case of last year’s Ramanavami violence in Bengal. They have been arrested for conspiring and instigating riots and attacking religious processions. These 16 accused have been arrested after NIA investigated the CCTV footage of the riots.
1. On 23rd March 2023, the Ramanavami procession of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad was attacked by fanatic Muslims in North Dinajpur, Bengal.
2. 24 hours later, stone pelting happened in Shibpur, Howrah. Approximately 15 people including 3 Police personnel were injured. More than 10 vehicles were set on fire, and more than 20 shops were vandalised.
3. It has been published in the NIA’s press note that Afroj Alam, Muhammed Ashraf, Muhammed Imtiaz Alam, Muhammed Irfan Alam, Kaiser, Muhammed Farid Alam, Muhammed Furkan Alam, Muhammed Pappu, Muhammed Suleman, Muhammed Sarjan, Muhammed Nurul Hoda, Wasim Arya, Muhammed Salahuddin, Muhammed Jannath, Wasim Akram and Muhammed Tanweer Alam, have been arrested.
