BJP Govt in Chhattisgarh to table a bill to control illegal conversions
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) – Chhattisgarh prohibition on Unlawful Religious Conversion Bill will be tabled soon. Though the draft of this bill is ready, a few modifications will be done before it is presented in the assembly.
Chhattisgarh’s BJP Government proposed a bill to stop unlawful religious conversion.
👉 Hindus expect the Center to make a Nationwide law for unethical religious conversions, rather than individual BJP ruled states fighting against it.#ChhattisgarhConversionBill pic.twitter.com/hw6tFxRgGP

What is the content of the bill ?
1. As per the draft, informing complete details of the conversion to the District Magistrate’s Office 60 days before conversion will be mandatory. The Police will verify the intent of conversion.
2. The bill ensures that religious conversion is not done with the use of power, fraudulent conversion, coercion, undue influence or through marriage. If there is anything suspicious in the conversion form, it will be deemed illegal.
Editorial Perspective
Hindus hope that the Union Government brings in this law for the entire country, instead of BJP ruled States enacting it separately. |
