State Government appeals the Union Government to change the law
During the summer session of the Legislative Assembly, MLA Bachu Kadu had raised the issue of ‘Online’ gambling and condemned cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in the Assembly for advertising it. Responding to this, Maharashtra Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the Assembly that the Maharashtra Government will inform the Union Government about the necessary changes in the law. Maharashtra Government is making efforts as well.
Editorial Perspective
The Government needs to take policy level decision to ban the online games that attract the youth to legally gamble. |
