Assam to enact UCC soon
|
Guwahati (Assam) – Following the Uttarakhand BJP Government, now Assam Government is also preparing to enact UCC. State Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The Cabinet Ministers discussed Uniform Civil Code and an Anti-Polygamy Bill Draft. We have decided to form a 9-member committee of experts which will work on new Uniform Legislation in line with the two aspects, Uniform Civil Code, and Anti-Polygamy, so that we can bring a more robust legislation. Tribals in the State will be exempted from UCC. Government has banned religious conversions. To save the State from violence, Muslims, Christians and Hindus should adhere to their respective religions.
Uniform Civil Code will soon be implemented in #Assam too !
📌Polygamy will be banned !
The government will form a committee of experts !👉 Instead of individual states making their own uniform civil laws, Hindus think that the Union government should implement a uniform… pic.twitter.com/FZdAZpHUI0

Editorial Perspective
Hindus feel that instead of State wise implementation of UCC, it is better if the Union Government implements it nationwide. |
