Manoj Jarange’s health deteriorates, the Maratha community turns aggressive
Various parts of the State closed
Jalna, Maharashtra – The health condition of Maratha quota agitation spearhead Manoj Jarange, whose indefinite fast entered the fifth day on Wednesday, is deteriorating, but he is not allowing doctors to examine him, an activist close to him said. Jarange has been observing the indefinite fast at his native Antarwali Sarati village in Jalna District of Maharashtra demanding inclusion of the Maratha community into the Other Backward Class (OBC) grouping. Due to this, his condition has deteriorated in the last few days. Patil’s nose is bleeding due to low water level in his body. As his health deteriorated, the Maratha organisations became aggressive. They have called a bandh in various parts of the State.

Protests are being held across the State to support Jarange’s hunger strike. As part of this, the Maratha community called for a ‘Bandh’ at ‘Devachi Alandi’ in Pune. Alandi residents responded to it. Alandi which is also known as ‘Alankapuri’, the residence of Warkaris, was deserted, while Solapur, Manmad, Beed, Baramati have also felt the effects of the ‘Bandh’ called by the Maratha community.
