The Cow is not an object of any single religion or sect – Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand

Attendees

Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand of Sharada Peeth stated, “The Cow is not something belonging to any single religion or sect, but for everyone. Just like a mother cares for all her children, the Goumata nurtures the entire world with equal reverence. Hence, moving beyond politics and enmity, we need to unite and collectively work towards our goals. Only then the commitment to cow protection will be fulfilled.”

Key Points from the Cow Parliament’s Declaration

  • The proposals passed by the Saints include establishing a ‘Rashtriya Rama Gou Bhakt Aayog’ with the help of cow devotees.
  • The upcoming New Year to be declared as ‘Cow Samvatsar’.
  • The ‘Gou Sansad’ appealed to the Government to declare the cow as the ‘Mother of the Nation’. The Saints resolved that the Union Government should form a separate ‘Cow Ministry’ and the bovines should not come under the animal husbandry ministry.
  • Cow and their progeny should be removed from the State list of the Indian Constitution and be included in the Union list.
  • Any Hindu involved in cow-slaughter, consumption of beef, or engaged in the slaughter industry, unless they cease these actions and express remorse, should not be attended or accepted by the general Hindu community in religious ceremonies. Such individuals will be identified, made aware, and, if necessary, disclosed to the general Hindu populace.
