Religious fanatic from Virar arrested for posting offensive video about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Virar (Palghar) – Sufiyan Amjad Shaikh, a resident of Bolinj, Bandarpada, Virar, has been arrested by the Police for posting offensive video against Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and glorifying Mughal invaders Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan. Mahesh Raut, President of the Bhandari community in Bolinj village, lodged a formal complaint regarding this matter at the Arnala Police Station. Despite the complaint, the Police initially refrained from initiating legal proceedings. Therefore, hundreds of Hindus gathered near Sufiyan’s house and protested and demanded that a case be filed. Subsequently, the Police formally filed a case. Sufiyan was arrested by the Police on 5th February. Sufiyan had posted an offensive video on social media platform ‘Instagram’. When Hindus came to know about this on 4th February, hundreds of Hindus gathered at Sufiyan’s house and demanded action against him. The video in question contains praises such as ‘I am stronger, I am better, I am smarter’ directed towards Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan, alongside derogatory remarks such as, ‘Kya re bhangar ke shakal ke tere bap ko bhul gaya kya,’ aimed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The video spans 24 seconds, with 18 seconds comprising objectionable content. Mahesh Raut filed a formal complaint citing that the video not only denigrated Hindus but also deeply offended their religious sentiments.
