Hindu Mahasabha questions Urus celebration at the Taj Mahal

Urus celebration was not permitted by the Mughals or the British

(Urus means Muslim festival)

Agra (UP) – ‘The Urus celebration, which takes place at the Taj Mahal from 6th to 8th February every year, has no historical significance and it had no permission from either the Mughals or the British. This fact has come to light through RTI. Why is it celebrated even today ?’, questioned the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha and demanded a permanent injunction against this Urus. A petition has been filed in the Agra Court in this matter. The Court has accepted the petition and will hear the case on 4th March.

Mahasabha has also objected to free entry to the Taj Mahal for Urus. This event takes place between the 6th and 8th of February, in memory of the Mughal invader Shahjahan. On behalf of Mahasabha, Meena Divakar and Sourabh Sharma have filed a petition in the Court of Additional Judge in the Civil Court through Advocate Anil Kumar.
