Muslims should hand over Gyanvapi and Shahi Eidgah mosque to Hindus : KK Muhammed
Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – Archaeologist KK Muhammed has appealed to the Muslims to hand over the Gyanvapi mosque in Varanasi and the Shahi Eidgah mosque in Mathura to the Hindus. KK Muhammed is an archaeologist who was a part of the team which excavated Shriram Janmabhoomi site and discovered important evidences of Shriram Temple. He was speaking to a news agency.
KK Muhammed added that the only solution to this problem is to hand over the Gyanvapi and the Shahi Eidgah to the Hindus. All Muslim religious leaders should unite and hand over these structures to the Hindus. Kashi, Mathura and Ayodhya are very special places for the Hindus. They are related to the Deity Shiva, the Deity Krishna and the Deity Shriram respectively. Muslims have no special feelings about the mosques built here.
71-year-old Muhammed, who lives in Kerala’s Kozhikode, said that even today he gets death threats for finding the evidence of Shriram Temple at Ayodhya. The ‘Popular Front of India’ (PFI), which is now banned in Kerala, was earlier very active.
Who is KK Muhammed ?
KK Muhammed retired in 2012 as the Regional Director of the Northern Division of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). In 1976, he was a part of BB Lal’s team which excavated the Ayodhya site. Muhammed was invited for the 22nd January’s pranapratistha (consecration) ceremony, but could not attend due to health reasons.
