A major 7.2 Richter scale earthquake rocks Xinjiang in China

New Delhi – A major earthquake of magnitude 7.2 on the Richter Scale hit the border of China-Kyrgyzstan, on 22nd January at 11:39 p.m. Many buildings collapsed and several people got injured due to the earthquake. After the earthquake,40 tremors were also recorded.

The most affected areas were Urumqi, Korla, Kashgar and Yining. In India,Delhi NCR also got affected and the tremors were felt for a long time. People got scared and ran out of their homes to reach an open area.
