Religious fanatic professor in Bihar demands separate homeland for Indian Muslims
After students’ protest, the professor resigned and apologised
Patna (Bihar) – A Police complaint has been filed against Khursheed Alam, an assistant professor, who circulated a post on social media saying, ‘Indian Muslims want a separate homeland adjoining Pakistan and Bangladesh. United Pakistan and Bangladesh Zindabad’. Alam was the Head of the Department of Political Science at Narayan College. Angry students protested on the college premises and demanded action against Alam. Alam’s effigy was also burnt and the students threatened to boycott his classes if Alam was not removed from office. After that, the college administration issued a show cause notice to Alam. Alam resigned from the post of assistant professor and apologised subsequently. ‘I have never tried or intended to hurt anyone’s sentiments through my post. If anyone’s sentiments have been hurt by this post, then I apologise for it, he posted.
BJP is turning the country into a Hindu Rashtra – Khursheed Alam
Khursheed Alam, talking to an English daily, said that our constitution is secular, but BJP in its manifesto has announced to make India a Hindu Rashtra. The country is not neutral towards all religions. The judgments of the Courts are also biased. (Muslims remember that the ‘Constitution of India is secular’ only when Hindu Rashtra is demanded. They did not remember this while enjoying privileges based on religion for the last 75 years while receiving subsidies for the Haj pilgrimage while receiving subsidies for madarasas and while accepting the recommendations of the Sachar Committee – Editor).
Editorial Perspective
Although he has apologised, it is apparent that such people want to divide India further ! Sending such people to Pakistan, which is on the brink of bankruptcy, will be the appropriate punishment for them. |
