Shriram temple to be 161 feet high, will have 392 pillars and 44 entrances

Shriram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust gives detailed information about Shriram temple

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) – The grand temple of Shriram will be inaugurated on 22nd January and the Idol will be consecrated. In light of this, Shriram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has published comprehensive details about the temple’s features, amenities and other pertinent information on ‘X’. The provided information is as follows:

1. Shriram temple in Ayodhya is being constructed in traditional Nagara style.

2. The length (from east to west) of the temple will be 380 feet, width 250 feet and height 161 feet.

3. This temple is going to be 3 storeyed. The height of each storey will be 20 feet.

4. The temple will have a total of 392 pillars and 44 entrances.

5. In the main sanctum sanctorum, there will be a child idol of Deity Shriram, while on the first floor, there will be the royal court (Darbar) of Shriram.

6. The temple will have 5 pavilions (mandap) namely Nritya Mandap, Ranga Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prarthana Mandap and Kirtan Mandap.

7. Idols of deities are being carved on the pillars and walls of the temple.

8. The temple can be accessed by climbing 32 steps through the Simhdwara on the east side.

9. For the entry of the disabled and elderly into the temple, there will be a ramp, as well as arrangements for elevators.

10. There will be a rectangular wall around the temple. It will have a total length of 732 meters in all four directions and a width of 14 feet.

11. 4 temples dedicated to Deity Sun, Mata Bhagwati, Ganapati and Shiva (Panchayatana Deities) will be built at the 4 corners of the park around the temple. There will be a temple of Shri Annapurna in the north and a temple of Shri Hanuman in the south.

12. Near the temple, there will be a Sitakoopa (Deity Sita’s well) from ancient times.

13. The other proposed temples in the premises will be dedicated to Maharishi Valmiki, Maharshi Vashishtha, Maharshi Vishwamitra, Maharshi Agastya, Nishadraja, Mata Shabari and Rishipatni Devi Ahilya (Wife of Sage Gautama).

14. The ancient temple of Deity Shiva in the south-west region has been restored and an idol of Jatayu has been installed there.

15. Iron/Steel will not be used in the construction of Shriram temple, nor will concrete be placed on the ground.

16. A 14-metre-thick layer of ‘Roller Compacted Concrete’ (RCC) has been placed under the temple. It has been given the appearance of an artificial rock.

17. A 21-foot-high granite pavilion has been constructed around the temple to protect it from the surrounding soil moisture.

18. The temple complex will have sewage and water treatment plants. Additionally, arrangements have been made for water supply to the fire brigade and the installation of an independent ‘water station’.

19. A centre has been established near the temple to accommodate 25,000 people. It will provide locker facilities for visitors as well as medical services.

20. There will be facilities like bathroom, toilet, wash basins etc. in the temple premises.

21. The temple is being constructed entirely in accordance with Indian tradition and with indigenous technology. Special attention has been given to the environment and water conservation and hence, 70% of the 70 acre area will remain green at all times.
