Walls of JNU University in Delhi sprayed with ‘Rebuild Babri Masjid’ slogan
Delhi – It has been revealed that a wall at the infamous Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi was defaced with the slogan ‘Rebuild Babri Masjid 6 December.’ Adjacent to it, the name of the Congress-affiliated student organisation ‘NSUI’ was also inscribed. Upon discovering this, the university administration immediately repainted the wall to remove the graffiti.
Following the aforementioned incident, the university administration ordered the removal of slogans and posters from all walls. Vigilance has been issued in the university complex and a committee has been formed to investigate the incident as such incidents are frequent. Along with this, all departments have been ordered to bolster security.
A university administration senior official stated that after consultations with the heads of various departments, they have been tasked with exploring the feasibility of installing CCTV cameras. The committee has also been given a week to submit its investigative report.
We have nothing to do with the slogan – NSUI
Contrastingly, Sudhanshu Shekhar, President of NSUI in JNU, asserted, “The name of our organisation was already present in black marker on this wall. Someone has written this controversial slogan above it using red marker. We have nothing to do with it. Strict action should be taken against those responsible”.
