India formally asks Pakistan to extradite terrorist Hafiz Saeed

Islamabad (Pakistan) – India has asked Pakistan to hand over the mastermind of the 26/11 2008 Mumbai attack and the founder of Lashkar-e-Toeba, Hafiz Saeed. News regarding this is published in Pakistani media. India has not made any official statement about it. India has made an official request to the Pakistani Foreign Affairs Ministry for the extradition of Hafiz Saeed. So far, Pakistan has not taken any action on this issue.

Hafiz Saeed was sentenced to imprisonment for 15 years, in 2019, on charges related to terrorism financing. For another charge, he is sentenced to 31 years of imprisonment.

The political party of Hafiz Saeed is contesting elections

Though Hafiz Saeed is in prison, his political party ‘Pakistan Marakaji Muslim League’, is contesting Parliament general elections in Pakistan. His son Talha Saeed is contesting elections from Lahore.
