Five soldiers killed; three injured in terror ambush

  • Terrorists mutilated bodies of soldiers in J&K’s Rajouri
  • Terrorists looted weapons

Srinagar (Jammu-Kashmir) – The terrorists ambushed the Army vehicle during an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri District on Thursday. The forces faced another loss in the ongoing anti-terrorism operation in J&K’s Rajouri District as a Lance Naik from nine Para (Special Forces) died of bullet wounds on Thursday, bringing the total security casualties to five. The intense gunfight in the Bajimaal-Kalakote area led to the killing of two terrorists including a high-ranking Pakistani commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Injured soldiers are undergoing treatment in the hospital. According to the information, there was a face-to-face encounter between the soldiers and the terrorists. The bodies of two soldiers were found in dismembered condition. The terrorists stole the weapons from the soldiers.

The attack took place in an area called Dera Ki Gali (DKG) on the Thanmandi-Surankot road in Rajouri. These vehicles carrying soldiers were going to Surankot and Bafliaz. At this place, the security forces had started a search operation against the terrorists on the night of 20th December. Additional troops were being sent there on 21st December. The attack took place on the vehicle of these soldiers.

Before this attack, on the night of 19th December, there was an explosion at a Police base in the Surankot area of Poonch. The blast was so powerful that the windows of several vehicles parked in the Police camp were shattered.

250 to 300 terrorists set to enter India

For the past several years, such information has been coming out at intervals of a few months. This means that no matter how many terrorists are killed by the Indian Army in Kashmir, new terrorists are trained in Pakistan and continue their attacks. For this, destroying Pakistan, which is the origin of these terrorists, is the only solution !

A senior Border Security Force official, quoting intelligence sources, had said a few days ago that 250 to 300 terrorists are at the launch pad (where trained terrorists are brought together to enter India) along the Pakistan border. They are trying to intrude into Kashmir. Security forces have been alerted. Any intrusion attempt from across the border will be thwarted.

Editorial Perspective

Through such incidents, the jihadi terrorists are proving wrong the general impression that ‘the terrorism in Kashmir has now been curbed’. Efforts must be made to destroy the jihadi mentality of the people in Kashmir to root out terrorism.
