New Delhi – A few days ago, American agencies made a serious allegation that the Indian Government was involved in the conspiracy to kill Khalistanist terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. It was said that an Indian person has been arrested in this regard and all these allegations have been mentioned in the chargesheet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commented on this matter for the first time. In an interview to an English newspaper, the Prime Minister said, “If anyone presents convincing evidence in this regard, I will definitely look into the matter.” If something good or bad has happened to any citizen of India, we are totally prepared to investigate it. We are committed to the rule of law.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi further said that however, anti-national activities are being carried out by individuals seeking asylum abroad and we are concerned about it. Violence is encouraged by these elements in the name of freedom of expression. The Prime Minister dismissed the possibility of straining relations between the two countries over the allegations of conspiracy to murder. He said that such cases would not affect the relations between India and the US. Both the countries are eager and putting in a lot of efforts to strengthen these relations. Defence and cooperation in the fight against terrorism are important aspects of our friendship.
