Shriram’s Charan Paduka
Ahmedabad / Ayodhya – A great enthusiasm is seen across the country as only one month is left for the consecration ceremony of the Shriram idol. On 22nd January 2024, after the abhishek ritual, Shriram’s Charan Paduka too will be installed in the temple. These Charan Padukas are made of 1 kg of gold and 7 kg of silver.
Shri Challa Srinivas Shastri of Hyderabad has crafted these Padukas and they are being taken in procession all over the country. They were brought from Rameshwar Dham to Ahmedabad on 17th December. They will be taken to Somnath Jyotirlinga Dham, Dwarkadhish Nagari, then to the Badrinath Dham. Shri Challa Srinivas has done ‘pradakshina’ around the Shriram temple that is under construction in Ayodhya, for 41 days while carrying the Padukas in his hand.
Details of the temple construction work
80% of construction work of the first floor of Shriram temple in Ayodhya has been completed. Tiling and pillar work is also in the final stages. Shriram Janmabhoomi Trust has said that the first floor will be completed by the end of December. The total number of workers engaged in the construction work of the temple has been increased from 3,200 to 3,500 for timely completion. Engraving work is being done on the roof while 14 out of the 18 doors are being gilded with gold on the ground floor. VIPs are banned from entering the temple construction site, to prevent any disturbance in the construction work of the temple.
