A Hindu family forcibly converted to Islam by a Maulavi and a girl raped in Uttar Pradesh

Attempted rape of girl’s mother and her other daughter

Prayagraj (UP) – An incident of mass conversion of a Hindu family has come to light. The Maulavi living in a dargah here called the members of a Hindu family to the dargah and forcibly converted them. The Maulavi of the Dargah raped a girl of the family. The sons of this Maulavi tried to rape the woman and another girl of this family. In this case, the Police registered a case and arrested the accused named Akram. The Police have registered a case against Junain and Faisal along with Akram.

According to reports, the victim young woman told in her police complaint that deceased Maulana Mushtaq Ali lured her father to convert to Islam. For this, Maulana Mushtaq Ali told him that his business of sweets would grow if he converted to Islam. Influenced by the Maulana, woman’s father started visiting mosques, going to various mazars, offering chadars and doing other Islamic activities like namaz. He stopped worshipping Hindu Deities. Mushtaq Ali also forced her father to build a grave in his house failing which he threatened her father, his whole family might die.

The woman said, Mushtaq Ali began exerting influence over her, her husband, and other family members following the death of her daughter. Maulana compelled woman and her daughter to visit the Mazar situated in the Chhota Baghada area of the town. Once there, he confined the minor in a room and subjected her to sexual assault.

Maulana Mushtaq Ali died later. On the same day, his sons Akram, Junaid, and Faizan came to woman’s residence, stating that Mushtaq Ali had commanded them before dying that they must bring her to Mushtaq’s tomb at any cost. She and her daughter faced verbal and physical abuse there.

Editorial Perspective

Uttar Pradesh has an anti-conversion law. Still, religious fanatics convert a Hindu family and exploit the daughters, which shows that they have no fear of the law.
