Rising Dangers of State Sponsored Islamic Terrorism
Col. CN Ramakrishnan served in the Indian Army for 33 years. He participated in the wars of 1965 and 1971. Since his retirement from the Indian army, he has been engaged in social activism, and mentoring under-privileged children of migrants in New Delhi. |
Brutality and unabashed violence unleashed by the terrorist organization HAMAS against Israel, supported with weapons including thousands of mortars and rockets, training for terrorists in military camps in Iran and Pakistan is an indication of the next major step up in terrorist operations by aggressive Islamic states, against non-Muslim countries.
Many theories are advanced as to why and how this major terrorist action was perpetrated by HAMAS against Israel at this time. They range from scuttling reforms by Mohammad Bin Salman and his efforts to lift Saudis from stone age beliefs, peace in the Middle East, reconciliation with Israel, impede the rail and ports plan to link India to Europe via Middle East, rivalry between Iran and Saudi Arabia etc.
No matter what, the idea of ‘Vasudaiva Kutumbakam’ is in danger from malevolent Islamic organizations and their sponsors.
Danger of Subjugation and Loss of Freedoms
Islam as a religion has spread around the world and as many as 57 countries consider themselves to be Islamic. Many of these Islamist countries are actively involved in the spread of their official religion and are willing to go to any extent, including destructive wars against their neighbours as in the Middle East against Israel, or against India in South Asia.
Countries like Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Pakistan openly support terrorist organizations like Al Qaida, HAMAS, Hezbollah, ISIS, Boko Haram Lashkar-e -Tayyaba, Jamaat-e-Islami, Tablighi Jamaat, etc. who wish to impose Sharia law on the world and openly call for destruction of non-Muslim countries.
There is an urgent need for people in India and other non-Muslim countries to know and understand the present dangers that confront them in the international arena.
Countries that believe in equality, freedom of speech and religion, brotherhood of humans and peaceful coexistence of diverse philosophies and religious practices need to protect themselves from the looming dangers of terrorism and aggression openly indulged in the name of Islamic religion.
Brutality & Unabashed Violence (Jahiliyya) Sanctified
Many of the practices and customs of the pre–Islamic Arabic society continue to be practiced by Muslims around the world, some repulsive and many considered anti-social in the modern era, especially in countries that practice Democracy, secularism, and an open approach to scientific knowledge with constitutional safeguards for equality and justice.
Many ‘Ayat’ and quotes from ‘Hadith’ that openly call for violence and destruction are considered not only just and lawful but binding on every Muslim.
In the Islamic chronology there are two very distinct historical periods : The pre-Islamic and the Islamic periods.
“Prophet Muhammad grew up in the pre-Islamic era prior to his appearance as the messenger of God in the Arabian Peninsula. The Prophet’s attitude and approach towards the many aspects of life affecting individual behaviour, society and the approach to peace and conflict and Arab customs on the prehistoric Islamic periods have been subject to outright rejection to adaptation and modification at different levels”. (Hasan Ud Din Hashmi, Islamic Jurisprudence in Early Islam)
“….Muslims usually called the pre-Islamic era the jahiliyyah an era of ignorance”. (https://www.jstor.org/stable/41932575)
“Prophet Muhammad himself usually referred the term Jahiliya to ‘a state of mind that caused violence and terror in the seventh century Arabia’. (Armstrong, Mohd., a Prophet for our time)
“Although, social and cultural institutions of mediation, arbitration, and reconciliation in Arab-Muslim communities are intensely influenced by Islam, researchers’ findings illustrate that conflict resolution methods and institutions in Arab societies appears to parallel to the intervention mechanism in pre-Islamic times when tribal customs, which has been passed on from one generation to the other …”. Sanctification of Inequality, Brutality & Violence
Inequality is built into Constitutions of all Islamic countries. Many of the Islamic countries have taken on the highly negative attributes of ancient Arab society, guided by their ‘reformers’ from Al Ghazali, Wahab to Abul Ala Maududi.
‘Riyasat e Madina’ has meant that hatred against Christians and Jews is openly encouraged by leaders of political parties, religious and terrorist organizations supported by the Governments in Islamic states.
Pakistan is a country where radicals are encouraged to create havoc among non-believers i.e., Hindus, Christians and Jews primarily, as also those from different sects of Islam including Ahmadis, Shia, Bhora, etc. Tirades against Christians, Jews and Hindus are regularly spewed by preachers and politicians’ day after day from ‘places of worship’, pulpits and rostrums.
There are many statements in the Quran and Hadiths that fly in the face of scientific deductions and factual data. There are also contradictions in the essence of the spirit of the Holy book. Fatwas from Muslim scholars over the centuries (from Ibn Tamiya against the Mamelukes to Ruhollah Khomeini, and hundreds more) have created vast confusion, inflicted great miseries on innocents, and acted as spoilers in international relations.
According to Ibn Khaldun (1332–1406) “In the Muslim community, Holy war is a religious duty, … Muslim mission and (the obligation to) convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force”. Islam is ‘under obligation to gain power over other Nations’. [i]
It must be understood that there is no sanctity of treaties entered, between Muslims and non-Muslims. This was made clear in the case of treaties with the Jewish tribes Banu qaynuqa, Banu nadir and Banu Qurayza. (As has been demonstrated repeatedly in history and Indian experience with Pakistan).
Torturing innocents to extract their hard-earned wealth by the powerful is approved given the precedence on order given against the Jew Kinana ‘torture him until you extract what he has’.
In Muslim lands non-Muslims and minorities have no rights except as upon the goodwill and sufferance of Muslim mobs and Governments. In country after country, history is witness to Jihadi hordes dispossessing land of the natives and women enslaved. Genocides of Armenians, Assyrians, Yazidis by the Caliphs and their successors have taken place in the last century only.
Countries like Turkey (under President Erdogan) are reverting to Ottoman days of harassing Armenians, Syrians, and Yazidis.
ISIS has been indulging in such brutal acts of massacres and sex slavery. The recent abduction, rapes and killing of women and children by Hamas is a living example of how Muslim Jihadis treat others.
The way Hindus and Sikhs were targeted and driven out by Pakistani backed Taliban in Afghanistan is fresh in the memory of nationalist Indians.
It is a shameful chapter in the History of independent India when local Muslims teamed with Jihadis from Pakistan and drove out lakhs of Hindu Pandits from the Kashmir Valley. Government of India did not lift a finger to help the Hindus who became refugees in their own country.
Harassment of Shias, Ahmedias Hazaras, and Baluchis are a daily occurrence in the Islamic country of Pakistan. Rapes, abduction of Hindu girls, their forcible conversion to Mohammadanism and marriage to powerful, wealthy old men is a daily occurrence in the Islamic country of Pakistan.
Malaysia under President Mahathir has taken away the liberties of Chinese and Indian non-Muslims over the last three decades. It has been encouraging preachers like Zakir Naik who preach extremism and openly support terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda, ISIS and HAMAS.
Islamic Jihadis believe that non-Muslim men have no choice except to become Muslims, else pay Jizya or be killed. Women who refuse to be converted will be treated as sex slaves. This is being enforced even today in parts of the world by organizations like ISIS, Boko Haram, JeM, Tablighi Jamaat and dozens more.
Slavery is still practiced in some Islamic countries (though officially banned due to international pressure, Mauritania is an example of covert practice of slavery in the 21st Century). [ii]
Grooming gangs [iii] incentivized by radical mullahs from Deobandi and Tablighi Jamaat in UK have ruined the lives of thousands of Christian girls in the last 3 decades, and are moving around freely, enjoy-ing their right to freedom, while denying it to others.
Denial of education, unfair marriage laws and genital mutilation degrade women in many Islamic countries and are sought to be imposed on non-Muslims. Growing power of the mullahs and oil rich Sheiks was clearly demonstrated the influence of obscurant ideas when over thirty student organizations took out processions in support of the terrorist HAMAS in an American University.
The danger to the free world posed by Islamic extremists cannot be underestimated or ignored. It is a matter of concern that every prayer led by mullahs in masjids around the world, five times a day, end with ill will for fellow human beings who are not Muslims and worse, incitements towards violence as a sacred duty i.e., Jihad on ‘infidels.

[ii] Of the Arab states, Saudi Arabia was the country with the highest prevalence of modern slavery, reaching over 20 per 1,000 inhabitants. The United Arab Emirates and Kuwait followed behind, both with around 13 per 1,000 population. The Arab states was the world region with the highest prevalence of modern slavery in 2021. [iii] In the past two decades, Britain has been rocked by reports of child abuse rings, which came to be known as the grooming gangs. Girls as young as 11 were plied with alcohol and drugs and sexually abused. They were trafficked, forced into prostitution, raped by several men on more than one occasion. The magnitude of child sex abuse was hair-raising. Worse still, some of the perpetrators have been tried and convicted, but not all.
