Stop misleading advertisements or else we will issue a fine
Supreme Court’s warning to Patanjali
New Delhi – Misleading advertisements must be stopped immediately or the Court will have to take serious notice and impose a fine of rupees one crore for each product, the Supreme Court has warned Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Ayurveda company. The Court issued the above warning while hearing a petition filed by the Indian Medical Association (Indian Medical Association) against Patanjali’s advertisements. We do not want to make this debate as ‘Allopathy vs Ayurveda’. We want to find an answer to the problem of fraudulent advertisements, the Court observed.
During the hearing on this petition last year, the Supreme Court had issued notices to Patanjali along with Union Government’s Health Ministry and Ayush Mantralay.
