Heart disease and blood pressure increased in people infected with coronavirus : AIIMS
Big claim by AIIMS
New Delhi – People who were seriously infected with coronavirus during the Covid-19 period had to face many problems later. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has made a big claim in this regard. AIIMS said that after Covid-19, many people developed more heart-related problems, as well as problems related to blood pressure. The study has also said that the heart vessels were affected after infection with the coronavirus. Besides this, it has been found that blood pressure is also not under control.
AIIMS doctors have advised patients with moderate coronavirus infection that at least once a year they should get tested to know whether their heart and blood pressure are under control.
Dr Dinu S Chandran of AIIMS Department of Physiology said that not only severe infections but also patients with mild coronavirus infection are facing this problem. Especially when they get up after sitting, fatigue and heart palpitations increase. A study was conducted on 56 patients with mild coronavirus infection who recovered without hospitalisation. Dr Chandran said that this problem was found in 8-10% of these patients.
