China suspends billions of rupees funds invested in various projects : Pakistan

Islamabad (Pakistan) – China has suspended funding of $60 billion to be invested in the China-Pakistan Economic Highway project to be built under its ‘Belt Road Initiative (BRI)’ in Pakistan. Apart from this, China has recently refused to invest money in electricity, water management, climate change projects under this scheme. China has also rejected investments to promote tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. China has told that it will invest in new projects only if the internal situation, security system, economic-political stability in Pakistan is seen. This decision of China has started criticism in Pakistan.

China no longer trusts Pakistan !

Bankruptcy time has come for Pakistan. Pakistan is not co-operating with China’s project due to economic crisis. Apart from this, Pakistan owes a huge debt to China. That is why China is not confident whether Pakistan will return the money of Chinese investors or not. Apart from China, Pakistan has borrowed money from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates. Al-Qaeda, the Islamic State, along with the Baloch Liberation Army, have also targeted China’s project. The lives of Chinese engineers and workers have been threatened. They have also been attacked.

With the departure of the US troops from Afghanistan, the importance of Pakistan decreased in the eyes of China

China started helping Pakistan while US troops were stationed in Afghanistan. They started investing in Pakistan. Now the US troops have left Afghanistan, the importance of Pakistan has become less in the eyes of China. Due to this, China has started sidelining Pakistan.
