No one in this country has the right to eradicate any ideology : Madras High Court
The Court slams the Police for not taking action against Udhayanidhi Stalin and PK Sekar Babu who stated that Sanatan Dharma would be eradicated
Chennai – The Madras High Court has slammed the Police for failing to take action against Udhayanidhi Stalin and PK Sekar Babu, who made derogatory statements on Sanatan Dharma. The Court stated that no person in this Country can have a right to propagate divisive ideas and conduct meetings to abolish or eradicate any Ideology. The co-existence of multiple and different ideologies is the identity of this Country. People in power should realise the danger of speech unfearing fissiparous tendencies, behave responsibly and restrain themselves from propagating views which will divide people in the name of Ideology, Caste and Religion. Instead, they may concentrate on eradicating intoxicating drinks and drugs which are injuries to health, corruption untouchability and other social evil. ‘
The court denied permission for a meeting that is against Dravidian ideology
The Court has refused permission to hold a meeting against Dravidian ideology. The meeting was to be held to protest against Stalin’s statement on Sanatan Dharma. A petition was filed in the Court in this regard. Permission was sought for this meeting in the month of September. The Court stated that it cannot permit any event that would lead to division among society.
‘Those making statements of destroying Sanatan Dharma should instead work on eradicating drugs, corruption and untouchability’
The Court added, ‘Co-existence of multiple and different ideologies is the identity of this country. Those who speak of destroying Sanatan Dharma should instead concentrate on eradicating intoxicating drinks and drugs which are injurious to health, corruption and untouchability. A meeting was held in which derogatory statements were made against Sanatana Dharma. The Police did not take any action against the people involved. Now, the permission of another meeting to destroy Dravidian ideology is being sought. These things will divide society.
Stalin remained firm in his statements even after the Court’s criticism
Will oppose Sanatan forever – Udhayanidhi Stalin

There was nothing wrong in what I had spoken – Stalin
Reacting to Madras High Court’s criticism, Tamil Nadu’s Minister of Sports Udayanidhi Stalin, who had earlier compared Sanatan Dharma to dengue and malaria, said, “There was nothing wrong in what I had spoken. We will face the matter legally. I will not change my stand. I have only spoken about my ideology. I have said nothing different from what Ambedkar, Periyar and Thirumavalavan said earlier”.
Those speaking of destroying Sanatan are in a way supporters of Palestine and Hamas! – Hindu Makkal Katchi (Hindu Janata Party)
Arjun Sampath, founding president of the ‘Hindu Makkal Katchi’, a devout Hindu organisation in Tamil Nadu, reacting to the High Court’s comments, said, “We welcome the decision of the Madras High Court. We condemn the Tamil Nadu Police who did not take action against Udhayanidhi Stalin and PK Sekar Babu. The Tamil Nadu Government not only sponsors but also provides security to the programmes wherein statements of destroying Sanatan Dharma are spoken. Their ministers attend these programmes. People across India should understand the mindset of political parties in the ‘I.N.D.I.A’ Bloc who support these people. Those speaking of destroying Sanatan Dharma are similar to Urban Naxals and Hamas supporters”. He spoke on a phone call with the representative of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’.
