ED accuses Chhattisgarh CM of receiving Rs 508 crore from ‘Mahadev App’
Rs 5.39 crore seized from an individual in Chhattisgarh
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) – The Enforcement Directorate (ED) seized an amount of Rs 5.39 crore from a car parked in the basement of a hotel and nabbed one person, named Asim Das. The State Assembly elections will soon be held in the State before which such cash has been found. ED has already accused Bhupesh Baghel, the Chief Minister (CM) of the Congress Government ruling this State, of receiving Rs 508 crore from the owner of ‘Mahadev Betting App’.
ED claimed that it was found from the emails and cell phone contact details of Mahadev App’s senior officer, Shubham Soni, and Asim Das that since a few days ago, Asim Das had been taking money to the State CM. It is financial misappropriation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had accused CM Baghel in a rally held in the State.
CM Baghel has not spared even the name of Mahadev – PM Modi
In an election rally held in Durg, PM Modi criticised CM Baghel. He said that Congress has not done anything other than scams and corruption in Chhattisgarh. ED confiscated an amount of Rs 5 crore when CM seemed to be shocked. The CM has not spared even Mahadev, which is one of the names of Shiva. What is the connection of Congress leaders with the accused fraudsters sitting in Dubai? Their money was seized by ED, but why should the CM be annoyed? ED conducted several raids and seized money. The money was being sent to Delhi Court. Chhattisgarh has become an ATM for them with Rs 2,000 crore liquor scam, Rs 5,000 crore rice scam, etc. Congress has not missed any opportunity to loot Chhattisgarh. All these scams will be probed when the BJP Government is elected in Chhattisgarh. The guilty will be punished.
I am accused based on the statement of some unknown person – CM Baghel
CM Baghel said after PM Modi’s accusations that PM Modi and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah were not able to fight with Congress, therefore, they accused me before the elections, based on the statement of some unknown person. Presently, everything is under the control of the Election Commission. Was this amount brought by the ED officers and the Central agencies on a special flight? He also asked ED if he caught somebody and asked him to take Modi’s name, would ED probe that person.
Editorial Perspective
It is a known fact that crores of rupees are distributed during elections in India. It is known to every citizen, so also, to the Election Commission; however, the Police or the Government agencies occasionally seize such money as most of the time, they are sleeping over these matters. |
