Ban on the programmes of RSS and other organisations within any temple premises
The anti-Hindu mandate of the Communist Alliance Government of Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – On 20th October, the Government controlled Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) banned the activities of several organisations including the RSS on temple grounds. The Board controls around 1,200 temples including the Sabarimala Temple. In 2016, the TDB had issued a circular banning the RSS mass drills and weapons training activities in the temple premises. It reissued the circular in 2021, but the latest one directs officials to conduct surprise checks at the temples. Any illegal activity on temple premises will also have to be reported to the local Police station. The TDB was emboldened by a Kerala High Court order banning mass drills and weapons training on the premises of the Sarkara Devi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram District.
TDB President K. Ananthagopan said, “When the High Court issued an order to clear the temple premises of extremist groups, we issued a directive. Temples are not the place for weapons training or for mass drills. There were even reports that many temple premises were being used to store arms. We can’t remain a mute spectator to such activities”. (Why is he mute on activities in Mosques ? – Editor)
The Devaswom Board says it has received complaints that RSS and other organisations are breaching the sanctity of the temples. (The Devaswom Board had demanded entry of women of all ages into the Sabarimala Temple, and ensured that this happens. When it takes such anti-Hindu decisions, does the Devaswom Board, controlled by the ruling Communist Government, have any right to talk about the sanctity of temples in the State ? – Editor)
