Mizoram Chief Minister said he will not support BJP after Meitei burned church in Manipur !
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga
Aizawl (Mizoram) – Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga said that he would not share the stage with PM Modi when he comes here to campaign for the upcoming assembly elections. He said that it would be better if the Prime Minister came here alone and presented his views on the stage. After this, I will come on the stage separately.
Zoramthanga said that the people of Mizoram are Christians. When the Meitei people (Hindu community) in Manipur burnt hundreds of churches, all the people of Mizoram protested. Hence, supporting the BJP this time would not be in the interest of his party.
Assembly elections are to be held in Mizoram on 7th November, the results of which will come on 3rd December. Before the elections, on 30th October, PM Modi may come to Mamit village in West Mizoram to hold a rally in support of BJP candidates.
Zoramthanga’s party Mizo National Front (MNF) is a member of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) and the ruling NDA at the Centre.
