New Delhi – Canada is not taking action against Khalistani terrorists in its country even after India repeatedly provided evidence. Along with this, Canada is also not making adequate efforts to curb the financing of these terrorists. Due to the above reasons, India is now being forced to take strict action against Canada. According to the English weekly ‘The Sunday Guardian’, India can force the global organisation ‘FATF’ (Financial Action Task Force) to take action against Canada. It has come to notice through some senior administrative officials that India will definitely complain to the FATF in this regard.

1. In this regard, India is collecting fresh evidence against Canada and will submit it to the FATF along with the earlier submitted evidence.
2. If a country is found to be playing a role in supporting terrorists, FATF takes action against that country. Once action is taken, the country will find it difficult to attract foreign investment and also will face difficulty in getting international loans.
3. India said that the move to deport 41 administrative officials of the Canadian Embassy in India was not enough and its basic concern was that Canada has essentially become a haven for Khalistanis.
4. A few days ago, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Arindam Bagchi, said, ‘In the Indo-Canadian relationship, Canada is fast becoming a safe haven for terrorists !’
5. By blaming India for the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, some administration officials say Canada is diverting the world’s attention from the real issue. India has completely rejected this charge and is trying to ensure that the original issue does not get sidetracked.
6. Even after India gave a list of 43 Khalistani terrorists to Canada and requested them to be handed over to India, Canada is not taking any steps in that direction and it is understood that India is also going to complain about this fact to the FATF.

Editorial Perspective

Britain, the US and Australia should learn from this, and take strict action against the Khalistanis in their respective countries; before India takes similar action against them.
