Pune, Maharashtra – Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has made a shocking revelation about Pakistani cricket fans. “While playing in Peshawar in Pakistan, Pakistani spectators threw nails at me. This nail stuck under my eye’, he said. Pathan made this disclosure while commenting on the India-Bangladesh match held in Pune on 19th October 2023. Pathan said that the Pakistan Cricket Board should look into its own behaviour before complaining about the Indian audience. (This behaviour of Pakistani spectators is a proof of the saying, ‘One does not see the speck in one’s own eye, but one sees the speck in the other’s eye’ ! – Editor)

India has organised the ODI World Cup this year. Under this, the India-Pakistan cricket match was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad  on 14th October. At that time, after India thrashed Pakistan, Pakistan Cricket Board filed a complaint with the International Cricket Council. In this, it was alleged that some spectators chanted ‘Jai Shriram’ when the Pakistan’s players were returning to the pavilion. “These chants were intended to hurt the sentiments of the players,” it said.

Editorial Perspective

Pakistanis who insult the Indian audience and Pak lovers within India should comment about Irfan’s statement.
