Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh) – On the occasion of Eid, celebrating the birth of Prophet Mohammad, incidents of violence have been reported in different parts of the country. One such incident occurred at Banbirpur under Sadarpur Post Office in the Sitapur District of UP. The local Muslims took out the procession on a different route than the usual route they take every year; therefore, Hindus asked for reasons for the change of route, leading to Muslims starting to argue with Hindus in foul language and even beating up Hindus.

In a short while, the incident turned into riots. Religious fanatic Muslims started pelting stones at Hindus, videos of which have been made viral on social media. Based on the videos, five Muslims have been arrested, and cases have been filed against 25 unknown individuals.
In the complaint lodged by the aggrieved Hindus, it was stated that Muslims had pre-planned to attack Hindus through the procession, for which they had collected bricks and stones in their houses, in advance.
Religious fanatic Hindus barged into Hindus’ houses and harassed the women. This has created tension in the area and Hindus are terrorised due to such behaviour.
Cases have been filed against Salim, Puttan, Ishtiyak, Sanu, Aitullah, Saimullah, Rahim, Gufran, Shibu, Moin, Qadir, etc., besides filing of cases against 25 unknown people.
Editorial Perspective
Muslims resorting to violence, not in any other States in the country, but in Uttar Pradesh (UP) where Yogi Adityanath is the Chief Minister, shows their level of insolence. Against this background, will it be wrong if people demand not just bulldozers to put a curb on them, but also imposing restrictions on their means of earning income ? |
