Mumbai – A few gangs are operating in India that are involved in issuing fake identity cards to illegal immigrants and Anti-National forces. National Security Council (NSC) has found that those illegal immigrants are engaged in Anti-National activities; therefore, the Central Ministry of Home Affairs has, informed all States about the same and advised them to be alert. On instructions from the Union Government, Maharashtra Police are going to undertake the drive, on a war footing, to find such illegal immigrants in the State. The State Home Department issued an order on the 25th of September 2023 in this regard.
These gangs are issuing fake documents like passports, Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, ration cards, etc., to these anti-national forces and illegal immigrants. It has also been found by NSC that the gangs are influencing the local Government authorities and bribing the concerned Government officers to obtain such fake documents.
Entry in Maharashtra by posing as residents of other States
These illegal immigrants are entering the northern and eastern States, obtaining identity documents in those States, and then entering Maharashtra. It has been found by NSC that by using identity cards obtained in other States, they are obtaining documents such as PAN cards, voter’s identity cards, ration cards, and Aadhaar cards, etc. in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Police to visit the actual residences and check the authenticity
After checking the address of the applicant, his past criminal records, and identity cards while issuing Indian passports, Maharashtra Police will submit their report to the Passport Division only after going to the address and physically verifying the proof of residence.
