Unfortunately, you have a neighbour like India : Chinese Ambassador to Nepal
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal criticises India
Kathmandu (Nepal) – “Unfortunately, you have a neighbour like India, but fortunately you have a neighbour like India because India is a huge market, with huge potential you can tap into. But at the same time, India’s policy towards Nepal and other neighbours is not so friendly and not so beneficial to Nepal”, Such outrageous statements were made by Chen Song, the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal during a program organised by the Foundation for Trans Himalayan Research and Studies and Friends of Silk Road Club Nepal. On this occasion, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Nepal, Devraj Ghimire was also present.
Ambassador Song pointed out that trade between India and Nepal, particularly in terms of electricity, has experienced a decline. Nepal also relies heavily on India for the import of agricultural products. He aimed to highlight that China can offer itself as a more dependable partner for Nepal in this situation.

Some experts in Nepal have criticised these statements made by the Chinese Ambassador. They have called for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda to send a diplomatic note to the ambassador and formally protest. They also pointed out that such statements do not align with the expected behaviour of an Ambassador.
