New Delhi – An US Organisation has concluded that ‘the violence in Manipur is not because of religion’. ‘The cause of violence is because of lack of faith between the local tribes, fear of the economic repercussions, drugs, separatism, and the historical incidences that happened here,’ states the report of ‘Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies’.

The main points mentioned in the report
1. The Union Government and the State Government are doing everything to bring peace and to rehabilitate the victims of the violence.
2. The violence has given an opportunity to some separatists and fanatic organisations to become active. The drug mafia gave economic support to the violence.
3. In the last few weeks there has been a reduction in the violence, but among there is still an atmosphere of mistrust the people. The condition of the displaced people is that they are still unable to return to their homes. To bring about peace in the area it is necessary to create an atmosphere of trust, and it is also necessary to take up the task of rehabilitation of the displaced people.
