Actor clarifies why he touched Yogi Adityanath’s feet

Lucknow (UP) – Film actor Rajinikanth met the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, while on a tour of the State. During the visit, Rajinikanth touched the feet of Yogi Adityanath. Rajinikanth is being criticised on social media saying ‘Rajinikanth should not have done this as he is much older than Yogi Adityanath’. When journalists asked Rajinikanth about the incident, he clarified by saying, ‘Be it a Yogi or a Sanyasi, even if they are younger to me, it is my habit to touch their feet and take blessings. That is what I have done’.

As per Hindu Dharma, it is a tradition to touch the feet of an elderly person, a wise person or a spiritually elevated person as a mark of respect. It is natural for the seculars, liberals and anti-Hindus to get annoyed if someone follows this tradition but Rajinikanth has shown the level of such people with his answer. |
