Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko threatens nuclear weapons strike in response to aggression

Warsaw (Poland) – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has threatened to use nuclear weapons in response to “aggression” by the NATO allies at the border. He was speaking in an interview with state-run BelTA on Thursday. Lukashenko is a close friend of Putin. He spoke this against the background of the Russia and Ukraine war and the tension with Poland. Russia has kept certain nuclear weapons in Poland. He has threatened that if Belarus attacks NATO countries with nuclear weapons, the third world war will begin.

Lukashenko said that they will not strike first unless provoked but Russia is our friend and will keep supporting them.

He further said, “If any aggression is launched against our country by Poland, Lithuania or Latvia, we will immediately respond with everything we have,” adding, “And the strike will be unacceptable. We will not tarry, wait or rest. We will use the entire arsenal of our weapons for deterrence,” he said, explaining that they are a small country that can be “captured within a month.” “We didn’t bring nuclear weapons here to scare someone,” he said.
