Several churches vandalised and set ablaze by fanatical Muslims in Faisalabad (Pakistan)
Consequences of alleged insult of Quran by a Christian sanitation worker
Faisalabad (Pakistan) – There have been incidents of vandalism and arson in some churches in Faisalabad District of Pakistan’s Punjab Province. The attacks were carried out after a Christian sanitation worker was accused of desecrating Quran. The fanatical Muslims also attacked the houses of some Christians. The Police have filed a case against the Christian sanitation worker in this case. According to Pak media Dawn, the vandalised churches were identified by pastor Imran Bhatti as The Salvation Army Church, United Presbyterian Church, Allied Foundation Church and Shehroonwala Church – all situated in the Isa Nagri area of Jaranwala tehsil in Faisalabad District. Additionally, the house of the concerned sanitation worker was attacked and demolished.
President Bishop for the Church of Pakistan Azad Marshall tweeted, “we, Bishops (senior pastors), Priests and lay people are deeply pained and distressed by the Jaranwala incident. A church building is being burnt as I type this message. Bibles have been desecrated and Christians have been tortured and harassed having been falsely accused of violating the Quran. We are demanding justice from the administration, action against those concerned, and protection of Christians.”
Many videos of attacks on churches are posted on social media. Strong reactions are also being expressed on social media. An individual posted, “this is the real face of the fanatic and terrorist country Pakistan.”

In India, fanatical Muslims attack and vandalise Hindu temples but Hindus never attack and vandalise mosques and madarsas after insult of Hindu Dharma. Will seculars take a note of this ? |
