United Kingdom announces ₹1 crore package to tackle Khalistanis
Announcement was made after a meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar
London (UK) – The United Kingdom has announced a fund of £95,000 (₹1 crore) to curb the flourishing Khalistani terrorism there, said the UK’s Minister of State for Security Tom Tugendhat. He recently visited India and was met by External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar while in New Delhi. It is said that the United Kingdom took this stand only due to Jaishankar’s insistence.
Tugendhat posted a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) in which he said, ‘India’s Central Bureau of Investigation is working closely with our intelligence agencies to tackle serious and organised crime. It was a pleasure to meet the Minister of External Affairs Dr Jaishankar. We strongly agree on the importance of proactively tackling violent extremism – whatever form it takes. I look forward to working closely with Dr Jaishankar to combat the full range of threats we face’.

India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and United Kingdom’s National Security Advisor Tim Barrow also met last month on 7th July. At that time, India had expressed serious concern over the threats it had received from Khalistani militants to officials at the Indian High Commission in the United Kingdom. In that meeting, India demanded the British Government take a strict stand against this and take action against the Khalistani terrorists and hand them over to India or conduct Court trials. On 6th July, Khalistani terrorists took out a march outside the Indian High Commission with the slogan ‘Kill India’.
Earlier on 3rd June, Dr S Jaishankar had demanded Canada, the US, the United Kingdom, and Australia to be tough against Khalistanis. Jaishankar had also warned that the bilateral ties will be affected if these countries failed to take action against the Khalistanis.
Some time ago, a report called ‘Bloom Report’ said that in the United Kingdom, Khalistani ideology was being indoctrinated into the minds of the young and cultured children of the Sikh community.
Editorial Viewpoint
It is ridiculous that a rich country like the United Kingdom allocates just ₹1 crore to combat Khalistani terrorism. Khalistani terrorists receive funds worth crores of rupees and hence, they have created a nexus in the world. The United Kingdom has mocked India by announcing such a small amount of funds. |
