Life in Imphal valley disrupted because of Bandh
Imphal (Manipur) – The 24-hour bandh observed on 5th August on the call of the coordination committee of 27 assembly constituencies in Manipur disrupted life in Imphal region. Markets in most of the settlements were closed. Public transport and schools were closed. Hill Districts were not so much affected by the Bandh.
Talking about this, coordinator of the coordination committee, L Vinod said, this Bandh was called to sort out various issues regarding Manipur in the session of Legislative Assembly. This Bandh was not called to put people in trouble but to pressurise the Government.

The Manipur cabinet on Friday urged Governor Anusuiya Uikey to convene a state Assembly session on 21st August. The last Assembly session was held in March. “The State Cabinet has recommended to the Hon’ble Governor of Manipur for summoning the 4th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly on the 21st August, 2023,” a notification issued by the cabinet read.
