Hindu Meitei community flees Mizoram

The result of the threat by an Ex-Militant group named Peace Accord MNF Returnees’ Association (PAMRA) of Mizo National Front on the background of incidents in Manipur

Aizawl (Mizoram) – Amid growing tension after the viral video of women tortured in Manipur, the Meitei community residing in Mizoram is facing the threat of life. An Ex-militant group in Mizoram, Peace Accord MNF Returnees’ Association (PAMRA) has asked the Meitei staying in the State of Mizoram to leave the State for their own safety. “In light of their safety, they will be responsible if something unpleasant occurs to the Meiteis,” the statement reads.

After the statement, Meitei’s from Mizoram started fleeing from Mizoram. Some people have taken refuge at airports and other safe places. The Manipur Government is in touch with the Mizoram Government on this matter. On the other hand, the Manipur Government has said that ‘if necessary, these people will be brought safely to Manipur by plane’.

Since the outbreak of violence in Manipur, 12,584 Kuki and Zomi communities have taken refuge in Mizoram. PAMRA, a Mizo National Front in Mizoram has expressed outrage over the incident of stripping women in Manipur. The same organisation had openly threatened the people of Meitei community living in Mizoram.

Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, is home to an estimated 2,000 people of the Meitei community, including Government employees, students, and workers. Following the threat, the Deputy Inspector General of Police circulated an order, directing the deployment of security personnel at every location for the security of Meitei’s in Aizawl.

Having to flee from their State in a Hindu-majority country with 100 Crore Hindus is an utter shame. If Hindus remain asleep like this, one day a similar situation will happen to Hindus in all parts of the country as it did to Mizoram’s Hindus. In order to avoid this situation, a Hindu Rashtra must be established.
