Islamic State terrorist apprehended in Tamil Nadu
Chennai – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has recently arrested a terrorist from Tamil Nadu belonging to the radical Jihadi terrorist organisation Islamic State. He had planned to attack various sacred places and Hindu leaders in Kerala. The Islamic State’s sole aim was to spread terrorism and create communal strife in the State. To foil this conspiracy, 3 places in Thrissur and one in Palakkad were raided. The above details were provided by the official spokesperson of the NIA. Earlier, the National Investigation Agency had arrested one of the accused, Ashif Upakhya Ashraf, from Sathyamangalam in Tamil Nadu. The next day along with Ashif, Syed Nabeel Ahmad, Shia TS of Thrissur and Raish’s houses in Palakkad were searched. During this time, suspicious technical equipments and documents were seized. The arrested accused Ashif, was regularly involved in raising funds for the Islamic State’s terrorist activities.
