We cannot advise India on human rights : US

Washington DC (US) – ‘Every society and country faces some difficulties and challenges. This includes us (the United States). No country is perfect. All have some shortcomings. In such a case, we (the United States) cannot advise India about human rights’, Kurt Campbell, US coordinator for the Indo-Pacific region, said at the US National Security Council. He made this statement in response to a question asked about the Human Rights Commission of India.

Kurt Campbell further said,

1. China is an important issue in India-US relations. However, both the countries are not collaborating just over this issue, but they also want to work together on many other aspects.

2. India has adopted a stance based on its principles in the Russia-Ukraine war. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a clear stand on the situation in Ukraine and the plight of its citizens. India is worried about this war and believes that Russia’s role is reprehensible.

• Better late than never for the US realising this ! India should demand an apology from the US, which has been publishing fake reports against India so far and defaming India !

• India should also demand that the United States withdraw all fake reports against India and take strict action against the concerned people, and also issue a warning to the so-called intellectuals, human rights and social organisations of their country not to publish such reports !
