Delhi Administration takes action against unauthorised religious structures
Action against a temple and mazar
New Delhi – The local Administration took action against unauthorised religious structures. Under the supervision of the Central Reserve Police and Delhi Police, a Hanuman temple and a mazar was razed down by Public Works Department (PWD) for the widening of the road in Bhajanpura area. The area was under surveillance through drones during the work to prevent any untoward incident. Additional Deputy Commissioner Subodh Goswami performed puja of Deity Hanuman before razing the temple. A flyover is proposed to be constructed at Bhajanpura. The unauthorised structures were causing traffic congestion in the area; therefore, they were removed after taking local people into confidence.
Dy Commissioner Joy N Tirkey informed that both the religious structures were peacefully removed with the cooperation of local people. The temple priest kept the Idols in the van.

Demolishing religious structures is wrong ! – AAP
PWD Minister Atishi, in Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government, opposed this action through her tweet. She tweeted that she had written to the Dy Governor requesting to withdraw the decision of demolishing temples and other religious structures in Delhi. Even then, the temple in Bhajanpura was demolished on his orders. She once again requested the Dy Governor not to demolish temples and other religious structures in Delhi since people’s faith was associated with them.
