Nashik referred as ‘Gulshanabad’ on a Bakri Eid hoarding
Nashik (Maharashtra) – On the occasion of Bakri Eid on 29th June, a hoarding put up in the city displayed ‘Mohamad Sufikhan Raza Friends Circle, Gulshanabad’. The mention of Nashik city as ‘Gulshanabad’ has sparked angry reactions among pro-Hindu organisations.
Nashik city was called ‘Gulshanabad’ during Mughal era. Later, during the Peshwa’s rule, ‘Gulshanabad’ was renamed as ‘Nashik’. After that, now suddenly Nashik has been mentioned as ‘Gulshanabad’, which has surprised the residents. This act is being condemned on social media.
Editorial Viewpoints
The Police should investigate whether – deliberate glorification of Aurangzeb, opposing portrait of Afzal Khan’s slaying, selling balloons with ‘Love Pakistan’ written on them, religious fanatics attempting to break into Trimbakeshwar Temple and now referring Nashik as ‘Gulshanabad’ – all these incidents part of a well-planned conspiracy. It would not be wrong if someone thinks that this is an attempt to dominate Hindus and create terror among Hindus. Occurrence of such incidents is a shame for the Police. Religious fanatics dare to do such things because Police are not taking strict action against the accused by investigating thoroughly. |
